We had the pleasure today of interviewing Ashley, our amazing representative at Fontile. Fontile is one of Greater Vancouver’s leading tile suppliers. They carry the latest trends in tile straight out of Italy and Spain. The owners of Fontile regularly fly to Europe to hand pick the latest and greatest that they know the Vancouver market will love. Fontile is not only known for its tile, they also carry large plank laminate and engineered wood flooring, stunning bathroom vanities made exclusively in Italy as well as Italian plumbing fixtures. Their large showroom is conveniently located near Science World in Central Vancouver. The size of the showroom means that they carry an enormous number of the tiles they sell. As well most of the tile that you would be interested in can be seen in application in the showroom.
We love Fontile for its wide array of tile choices and their mission to stay on the leading edge of the trends. Ashley showed us some beautiful new tiles from Porcelanosa. Some really popular aspects of tile are large format tiles anywhere from 24″ x 24″ to 36″ x 48″! Grey remains to be really popular as well as textural tiles. One of the really cool textures she showed was a resin-like glaze on a concrete looking tile. Giving it the effect you would see on an acrylic artist’s canvas! The hydraulic or mediterranean patterned tiles are becoming really popular.

Ashley shared a few reasons why seeking the advise of an interior designer can save you time and result in a better finished product.
1. There are so many different finishes in a single room renovation let alone an entire house. It is hard to imagine them all together and ensure that each room flows. Your interior designer is skilled at this and can ensure that you have a cohesive look at the end that suits your personal style.
2. There are so many different tiles out there and so many suppliers. To ensure that you have chosen the best tile for your space enlisting the help of an interior designer is advisable. Your interior designer is constantly being updated on the latest products and has extensive knowledge about the tiles each supplier carries.
